Navigation and Clothing
You can safely walk many miles throughout Our Local Area without needing any special
skills or endurance other than common sense. If you are following a publicised,
waymarked route you will be able to rely on a detailed map of the Bewdley Area.
Some people like to take a compass with them if they're going into the countryside.
Knowing how to use a map and compass is not essential to enjoy walks around our area.

Clothing and Equipment
Walking is one of the most accessible pastimes in the UK. People can safely walk in
towns or easy countryside without any specialist clothing or equipment, though it's
always best to take sensible shoes or boots and warm and waterproof clothing if you
want to go on longer walks or deeper into the countryside that surrounds the Bewdley
area. A huge range of equipment is available to make your walking easier, safer and
more comfortable.
