Bewdley Business Premises Grant

Goal
The aim of the scheme is to enhance the appearance of Bewdley town centre and to assist the regeneration of the local economy

Status - Completed

Description
To improve the external character of business premises in the Conservation area of Bewdley Town and the route from the train station by the:

Replacement of a modern front with one more appropriate to the age and style of the building and character of the town.

Restoration or repair or painting or redecoration of those parts of the building which can be viewed from the street.

Reinstatement of or the addition or the resetting of historic original/traditional architectural features.

Bringing back into use traditional shop blinds to replace existing plastic or vinyl ones.

Replacement of signs/lettering with ones more appropriate to the age and character of the building or to its proportions and (if in or near the conservation area) the conservation area

Removal of authorised swan necked lights and replacement with discreet ones.

Replacement of windows (or parts thereof) which are not in keeping with the remainder of the building architecturally or historically.

In all cases the requisite planning permission and listed building consent should be obtained where applicable.

The maximum grant available is 50% of the cost of the works up to a value of £5000.
