R45 National Cycle-Network
Goal
To progress the work of Worcestershire County Council, Sustrans and partners in integrating Bewdley and its surrounding parishes into the National Cycle Network via the completion of National Cycle-route 45.
Status - Completed
Description
To establish and agree a route for the local section of cycle-route 45. Upon completion, the route will offer a safe cycling and walking environment for local residents, school children and tourists, enabling people to enjoy the health benefits of a less car-dependant lifestyle
Beneficiaries
- Local People - The route will provide a safe environment for cyclists and walkers with much of the route providing an alternative to established highway routes.
- Local Economy - The route will establish Bewdley and its parishes firmly on the national cycle network and will encourage tourism into the area.
- School Children - Sections of the route will provide school children with safer, traffic free routes to school.
